  53. Assuming that's a serious question (is it? really?), the answer is
  54. a simple "no".  VAX binaries are different from Alpha binaries are
  55. different from IA64 binaries (because the underlying architecture
  56. off the three are so different from each other).  Period, end of
  57. story.

  59. Many (most?) VAX binaries could be translated to Alpha binaries
  60. using a utility called VEST.  Many (most?) Alpha binaries can
  61. similarly be translated to IA64 binaries using the analogous
  62. Itanium translator (whose name escapes me).

  64. I don't believe there was ever an Alpha to VAX "back" translator,
  65. nor is there one for IA64 to Alpha (or VAX).
